What can I erase from a PDF?
Anything visible on the page — QR codes, barcodes, text, images, watermarks, logos, stamps, headers, footers, signatures, annotations, phone numbers, email addresses, or any other content. Just draw a box around it and the tool will erase it using your chosen fill mode.
Can I erase multiple areas on different pages?
Yes. You can mark as many areas as you want across any number of pages. Use the page navigation to browse your document, draw boxes on each page, and all marked areas will be erased in one click. The Undo and Clear buttons let you adjust marks before processing.
What are the fill mode options?
Four modes are available. White fills the area with solid white — ideal for white-background documents. Auto Match samples surrounding pixels to match the background color for a natural look. Blur heavily blurs the area, obscuring content without leaving an obvious blank spot. Custom Color lets you pick any color. Edge blending smooths the transition for all modes.
Will the text on modified pages remain selectable?
Pages where you erase content are re-rendered as high-quality images, so text on those specific pages will no longer be selectable or searchable. Pages you don't modify are copied directly from the original PDF with no changes, preserving full text selectability.
Is there a file size or page limit?
No artificial limits. Since all processing runs locally in your browser, the practical ceiling depends on your device's available memory. Most modern devices handle PDFs with dozens of pages without any issues.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Yes. The tool renders each page as an image for processing, so it works equally well on digitally created PDFs and scanned documents. As long as the content is visible on the rendered page, you can draw a box around it and erase it.
Is my data safe?
Absolutely. All processing happens in your browser. Your PDF is never uploaded to any server. ConvertKr cannot see, access, or store your documents. This makes the tool safe for confidential, legal, and sensitive documents.
Can I use this to remove watermarks?
Yes. Draw a box over the watermark text or image on each page. For transparent watermarks overlaying content, the Blur fill mode works well as it obscures without leaving a blank spot. For opaque watermarks, White or Auto Match will produce a clean result.
