Choosing the Right Signature Method

The Draw method is ideal when you want a natural, handwritten look — use your mouse on a desktop or your finger on a touchscreen to draw your actual signature. The Type method is best for a clean, professional appearance — simply type your name and choose a font size and color that matches the document style. The Upload method is perfect if you already have a signature image saved as a PNG or JPG file — perhaps you previously signed on paper and scanned it, or created a signature in another application. All three methods produce a high-quality image that is embedded directly into the PDF.
Positioning Your Signature
After creating your signature, select the target page by clicking its thumbnail in the page grid. Then use the three sliders to control placement: the X offset slider moves the signature left or right across the page, the Y offset slider moves it up or down, and the size slider controls how large the signature appears relative to the page width. The live preview updates instantly as you adjust the sliders, so you can see the exact result before applying. For most documents, the signature line is near the bottom of the page, so a Y offset of 10-20% and an X offset around 50% (centered) works well.
Technical Details and Quality
ConvertKr's PDF signing tool uses the pdf-lib JavaScript library to embed your signature as a PNG image directly into the PDF page content stream. This means the signature becomes a permanent part of the PDF itself, not a separate annotation or overlay that can be easily removed. The signature is rendered at full resolution and scales cleanly at any zoom level.
