Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ConvertKr website and online file tools ("Service") operated by ConvertKr ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

ConvertKr provides a suite of free, browser-based file tools that allow users to work with PDFs, images, and other files online. The Service includes, but is not limited to:

  • PDF Editor — add text, images, signatures, drawings, and redactions to PDF documents
  • Merge PDF — combine multiple PDF files into a single document
  • Split PDF — extract page ranges from a PDF into separate files
  • PDF to Image — convert PDF pages to PNG, JPG, or WEBP images
  • Image to PDF — combine multiple images into a single PDF document
  • Image Convert — convert images between PNG, JPG, WEBP, and other formats
  • Image Compress — reduce image file size while preserving visual quality
  • Image Crop & Resize — crop and resize images to custom dimensions
  • Image Watermark — add text or image watermarks to photos
  • Background Remover — remove backgrounds from images
  • QR Code Generator — create customizable QR codes

All processing operations are performed entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to our servers.

3. Free Use and Limitations

The Service is currently provided free of charge. However, we reserve the right to:

  • Impose reasonable usage limits to manage resources and prevent abuse
  • Display advertisements to support the free availability of the Service
  • Modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without prior notice
  • Add new tools or remove existing tools from the Service

4. User Responsibilities

When using the Service, you agree to:

  • Use the Service lawfully: You will not use the Service for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose
  • Respect intellectual property: You will only process files that you own or have authorization to modify
  • Not abuse the Service: You will not attempt to overload, disrupt, or interfere with the Service's operation, including automated bulk usage or denial-of-service attacks
  • Not circumvent restrictions: You will not attempt to bypass usage limits, security measures, or access controls
  • Not upload malicious content: You will not process files containing viruses, malware, or any harmful code

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the files and content you process using the Service. We do not claim any ownership or license over your content. Since all processing happens locally in your browser, we never have access to your files.

5.2 Our Service

The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by ConvertKr and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

6. File Handling and Data

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. Key points include:

  • All file processing is performed entirely in your browser — your files are never uploaded to or stored on our servers
  • We do not have access to, read, analyze, or share the content of your files
  • Output files (edited PDFs, converted images, etc.) are generated locally and downloaded directly to your device
  • When you close the browser tab, all processed data is discarded

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
  • Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any processing results
  • Warranties that the Service will meet your specific requirements

You use the Service at your own risk. We recommend keeping original copies of your files before processing them.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ConvertKr and its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data, documents, or files
  • Loss of profits or business opportunities
  • Damages arising from service interruptions or errors
  • Damages resulting from inaccurate processing results

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service (which is currently zero for free users).

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ConvertKr and its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any rights of a third party
  • Any content you process using the Service

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to a violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Since no files are stored on our servers, no file deletion is necessary upon termination.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service may use third-party libraries, CDNs, and advertising networks. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the appropriate courts of the jurisdiction in which we operate.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
